Good Fruit

I believe we are living in a time in which God is calling His people into a time of repentance and a true relationship with Him. Through this we are also called to become a fruit bearing Christian and share the Good News of Christ with everyone that we meet. How is your life bearing fruit? Do other people see good fruit or bare branches? What are the fruits that you bear? Life as you know it is about to change when you become a fruit bearing Christian.

In John 15 it states “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.”

Please allow me to share a story about good grapes – one of my favorite fruits is seedless grapes. I would consider them good fruit – just like a lot of people in the body of Christ today would consider themselves good fruit. However, just like seedless grapes have been genetically engineered by man, so have some Christians today. Man has genetically engineered the Word and watered it down so that we can use it to reach thousands of people and bring them into a relationship with Christ. But just like seedless grapes they will never bear more fruit. Just going to church on Sundays won’t make you a fruit bearing Christian. The grapes that Christ planted here on earth have seeds and will produce a crop thirty, sixty or a hundred times. If you are willing to be a fruit bearing Christian, you will allow Christ to plant his Word in you daily. By staying connected with Christ through prayer, the reading of his Word and listening to the voice of the Lord as He speaks, He will lead your path. Then when the Lord leads someone into your path, you will be ready to share the fruits of the spirit.

My prayer for you today is that you may live in the Forgiveness, the Freedom & the Fullness for which Christ died, and that you are connected to Christ in a way that these three things will flow out of your life…Faith, Hope & Love.
