Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Manager

Job Summary

Exercises responsibility for all activities in the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) functions, ensures timely payment of vendor invoices, check requests and expense reports, maintains accurate records and control reports, and manages collection activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

    • Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.

    • Manages general journal entries, account, and report reconciliations
    • Manages all Blue Ridge Broadcasting (BRB) accounts payable including invoices, account coding, approval signatures, reports, requisitions, vendor information, and filing, in full compliance with GAAP and BRB/Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) Commitment Authority Policy
    • Develops and prepares reports, correspondence, and completes other projects with accuracy and efficiency
    • Assists with budget preparation and prepares requisitions
    • Manages all BRB accounts receivables
    • Provides oversite in the absence of the Manager, Accounting and Administration
    • Manages Program Coordinator to ensure logs and Cost of Service invoices are generated accurately and timely
    • Manages Receptionist/Office Assistant to ensure visitors, phone calls and prayer requests are handled in a personal and professional manner.
    • Accurately reports, files, and ensures payment of quarterly North Carolina Sales Tax payments
    • Accurately reports and files Sales and Use Tax Claim Refunds
    • Responds to vendor billing inquiries in timely, accurate manner
    • Processes donations, invoice payments, and concert offerings
    • Reconciles and compiles daily deposits
    • Processes credit card reporting and detail requests

Marginal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties assigned by supervisor
  • Provides secondary support for petty cash drawer
  • Provides secondary support for general business office functions, which may include mail distribution and revenue processing

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to Manager, Accounting & Administration
  • Supervises Program Coordinator and Receptionist/Office Assistant
  • Relates to BRB department leaders

Job Specifications

Skills and Knowledge

  • Accounting degree or equivalent experience in accounts payable/accounts receivable
  • Accounting/finance experience totaling minimum of five (5) years, including minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience during that time
  • Ability to lead, inspire, coordinate, and manage staff
  • Demonstrated Team player who leads by example
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency with large financial systems
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and reasoning skills
  • Excellent verbal communications skills
  • Ability to utilize computerized accounting, spreadsheet, and word processing software
  • Ability to work in harmony with other staff, and to function as a team player

Program Coordinator

Organize and schedule data required to create official program “logs” –  the daily guide that dictates the content and timing of content to air on radio station(s). Generate and upload said program logs, while also providing administrative support to Administrative and Programming departments.


        • Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.

        • Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence.
        • Determine and identify best placement of content upon logs, based on order info from Donor Ministries and format structure for station(s), set by Programming.
        • Oversee all data input and operation of software associated with the creation of daily program logs. This would include but not be limited to: working with vendors of software to troubleshoot any issues that arise, collaborating with the Music Director to coordinate input of logs into the automation system, and implement needed changes as directed.
        • Manage compilation of information for programming use such as, but not limited to, contact data for program providers, ministries and the like.
        • Oversee the compilation of the quarterly Issues and Programming Report for the Public File using information on file re: programming of the past quarter that has addressed the needs of the community.
        • Assist the Programming Department with various administrative reports including but not limited to: tracking text message interaction with listeners monthly, developing the monthly listener comments report for the Public File, and compiling the monthly Programming report for management to review.
        • Distribute monthly air staff schedule by 4th week of prior month as directed by Program Director.
        • Work closely with Manager, Donor Services and the Production Director in ensuring smooth flow of pertinent information regarding ministry partners as it pertains to the logging of partner’s on-air messages.
        • Effectively communicate with multiple team members
        • Demonstrate ability to come up with practical solutions to challenges and assist in seeing them taken to completion.
        • Assist with data entry in donor software such as adding names from events and pledges from fund raisers.
        • Assist with deposit processing such as online check deposits and verifying mail batches.
        • Assist with front desk coverage such as greeting visitors and answering switchboard.


          • Serve as liaison, when requested, between station and program providers
          • Helps with weekly mailings of promotional items and listener correspondence
          • Make public appearances on behalf of The Light FM as requested
          • Satisfactorily complete assigned production projects on schedule
          • Perform other tasks as assigned


    • Reports to the Manager, Accounting and Administration
    • Works closely with the Program Director to ensure completion of Programming related tasks


    Skills and Knowledge

        • Experience with radio scheduling software; accounting software experience a plus
        • Ability to work with various software/comfortable with computers
        • Ability to work under pressure
        • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English language
        • Ability to implement BRB guidelines and philosophy, regardless of own opinions.
        • Ability to perform the above technical and programming responsibilities
