This event is open to the public free of charge. We offer school supplies while supplies last. Lots of activities for kids such as water slide, fairy hair, facepaint and outdoor games. DJ Mitizy will be joining us for this Luau themed event along with over 50 Vendors. We will have BBQ plates, Hotdogs, and Hamburgers for sale, the proceeds help the Bear Closet purchase new carseats.

Unity Baptist Church (Crouse, NC) is having a Back 2 School Bash on Saturday, July 29th from 6 to 8 pm. There will be fun, food, and games from 6 to 7 pm. At 7 there will be a concert by Christian Rap artist Jonah Green. This is a free event and school supplies will be given to all children and teens.

The Ohana Mud Run is a 1 mile team based obstacle run designed to bring families together. The event takes place in Morganton NC on a private Motocross track amid giant sprinklers and giant mud hills. The event raises close to $40,000 annually that goes back to foster care programs, families in need, and ministries that glorify God.

John McClung Roofing will be giving out over 200 backpacks on 8/12 to families in need. Those interested will need to submit an application for interest/reservation as we have a limited number of supplies. Recipients may pick up their backpacks and "shop" for their supplies on Saturday, August 12th, from 11am-1pm at the Carrier Park Picnic Shelter. Any bags not picked up during this timeframe will be donated to another student. Some supplies included in every bag are notebooks, colored pencils, glue sticks, rule.

First Baptist Church of Whitnel- We will be hosting a Back to School Bash for our community. We will be hosting a free lunch and book bag filled with school supplies.This is a mission project for our youth that we have been doing for 3 years now. Our youth enjoy going out and helping families out. Especially now that the economy is struggling.
