When People Leave, God Stays

“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

We’ve all stood at a crossroads — ‘do I dive into something that won’t fulfill me, or do I surrender to Jesus and let Him be enough?‘ The truth is, every feeling of abandonment is an opportunity to discover His faithfulness.

When people walk away, God stays. When fear tells you you’re not enough, He whispers that you are chosen, loved, and secure in Him. Freedom begins when we stop trying to earn love and simply rest in the One who already gave it freely.

PRAYER
Lord, thank You that You never leave me. When I’m tempted to believe I’ve been forgotten, remind me of Your presence. Teach me to live from freedom, not fear. Help me know You more deeply so I can trust You completely. Amen.

ASK YOURSELF

1. When I start to feel abandoned or overlooked, what do I believe about God in that moment?
2. Where in my life am I still trying to earn love or prove my worth instead of resting in God’s?
3. How would my choices look different if I truly believed God will never leave me or fail me?

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

When those old feelings of rejection or fear start to creep back in, pause and remind yourself: God has never left me.Speak it out loud if you have to. Then, write down one area where you’ve been trying to control things out of fear—your relationships, your job, your future—and pray, “Lord, I trust You with this.” Each time the worry shows up again, choose to hand it back to Him. Freedom isn’t a one-time decision; it’s a daily practice of letting go and leaning into His love.
