When God Is Enough — Even When I Don’t Feel Like He Is

“And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

We say, “God is enough,” but most of us live with a quiet list of and’s.
“I need God… and people to like me.”
“I trust God… and I want to know what will happen next.”
“I love God… and I still want things to look the way I planned.”

You’re not alone. Even the girls this week admitted how easy it is to chase acceptance, performance, or security anywhere but in Jesus. But God isn’t shaming us — He’s inviting us to freedom.

Philippians 4:19 reminds us that God supplies every need, not just the spiritual ones. Emotional needs. Security. Belonging. Identity. Peace. He’s not withholding anything from you. He’s asking you to lay down the things that can never satisfy so He can fill you with Himself.

Surrender isn’t losing — it’s receiving.
And when you let God be God, you finally get to breathe again.

Put It Into Practice:

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the place where you most try to “be your own god.” Is it control? People-pleasing? Insecurity? Comparison? Once He highlights it, do this simple three-step practice:

1. Name it. (“Lord, I’ve been holding onto ___.”)
2. Release it. (“I surrender this to You.”)
3. Replace it. (“Fill me with Your truth instead.”)

Small obedience creates big freedom.
