Does talking about complaining count as actually complaining? This week on Girl Talk, we are shifting our focus away from the things that frustrate and annoy, and we are looking at our thoughts and words about those things. We will learn how we can move away from a pattern of negativity and towards gratitude and joy!
Think About It:
What is at the root of your complaints?
Why is complaining dangerous?
Have you ever fasted from complaining? If so, what happened? If not, are you willing to try?
Meditate On It:
“Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.” Philippians 2:14-16
“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” Ephesians 4:29
“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Proverbs 17:22
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
