The Calm In The Storm

Peace doesn’t come from a well thought out calendar or even that Hallmark Christmas cozy moment by the fire. Peace isn’t the Pinterest worthy table settings and knowing that there will be plenty of presents under the tree. Real peace comes from knowing the One who holds our hearts. When the angels sang out, “Peace on earth,” it wasn’t a promise of easier days and a calm political climate, but of a Savior who would calm the storm in our hearts. Jesus doesn’t just bring peace, He is peace. So, in every way-too-busy day of December, we can pause and rest in Him, the One who still whispers, “be still.” And in January, too.

Prayer:
Jesus, will you be my Prince of Peace?  Help me to slow down and breathe in Your presence. When my mind races and my heart feels scattered and heavy, settle me. Let Your peace guard my thoughts and guide my steps this week. Amen.
