Please join us for the Anderson County Community Resource Fair, Sunday, Aug. 20, 12-2:30 in the Family Life Center Gymnasium of First Baptist Church of Clinton (230 N. Charles G. Seivers Blvd, Clinton, TN 37716). Helping agencies will set up tables to educate the public about what resources exist in Anderson County to help people in need of services. Back to School Bash – Lenoir, NC

First Baptist Church of Whitnel- We will be hosting a Back to School Bash for our community. We will be hosting a free lunch and book bag filled with school supplies.This is a mission project for our youth that we have been doing for 3 years now. Our youth enjoy going out and helping families out. Especially now that the economy is struggling.

Disciple – Ridgecrest, NC

Free Concert by the Christian band, “Disciple.” Bring your youth group and the young at heart. Help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music and have a great time. Help us spread the word about this free concert. This is a Ryan B and Lori Gasperson sponsored and produced event.

Backpack Giveaway – Asheville, NC

John McClung Roofing will be giving out over 200 backpacks on 8/12 to families in need. Those interested will need to submit an application for interest/reservation as we have a limited number of supplies. Recipients may pick up their backpacks and “shop” for their supplies on Saturday, August 12th, from 11am-1pm at the Carrier Park Picnic Shelter. Any bags not picked up during this timeframe will be donated to another student. Some supplies included in every bag are notebooks, colored pencils, glue sticks, rule.

 

Newsboys: Let The Music Speak Tour – Knoxville, TN

One of Christian rock’s most enduring bands, Australia’s Newsboys first rose to popularity in the 1990s, becoming perennial chart-toppers with a global audience who followed them through three distinctive eras. Along the way, they experimented with various facets of rock, pop, and more straightforward worship music. Currently based in Nashville, Tennessee, the band has released 17 studio albums, 6 of which have been certified gold as well as notching various Grammy nominations and over 30 number one singles. In addition to performing music, the band has appeared in the films God’s Not Dead, God’s Not Dead 2, and God’s Not Dead: A Light In Darkness.

 

Overcoming Addiction: Suffering Well – Knoxville, TN

Join Renew Clinic Knoxville for a powerful evening of overcoming addiction and learning to “suffer well”. Hear from Brian “Head” Welch, lead guitarist of the American Rock Band “KoRn”, about how he came into to a relationship with Jesus and overcame a life of drug use. Brian will share what it means to “suffer well” through the process of breaking addiction, and how God showed up for him in those hard moments. The event will also feature Author, Pastor, and Psychologist, Dr. Jim Coffield. Tickets are available. Free tickets are offered to those who are currently enrolled in addiction/treatment programs.
