Preparing Room

We don’t wait for much anymore. You order on Amazon and it’s there in a day, if it takes that long. Playlists start instantly. Answers come with a quick Google search. But Advent invites us into something counter-cultural — holy waiting. Not anxious waiting. Not distracted waiting. Active waiting rooted in remembering who God is.

The people of God waited 400 silent years for the Messiah. No updates. No timeline. No countdown. But they trusted His character — even when they couldn’t see His hand.

And maybe that’s where you are this Christmas. Waiting for an answer. Waiting for healing and clarity. Waiting for God to move in someone you love.

Advent reminds us that waiting isn’t wasted. God is always working, even when we can’t see it. And like Carol shared, quiet moments — even something as simple as sitting in the glow of Christmas lights — can settle our souls long enough to remember:
Jesus came. Jesus is here. Jesus will come again.

Let this season be less about finishing everything and more about preparing room for Him.
