Open Hands, Open Heart

…casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7

There’s a big difference between living with clenched fists and living with open hands. Perfection is all about clenching — gripping expectations, image, outcomes, and the illusion that if we just try a little bit harder, everything will fall into place.

Jesus never asked you to control your world. He asked you to trust Him and follow where He leads.

The devil tells you:
“You’re responsible for everything.”

Jesus whispers:
“Just trust Me.”

Today, think about where you’re holding tight — the family image, the holiday plan, the spotless home, the perfect behavior, the perfect faith. Perfection is sneaky. It often masquerades as “being responsible” or “wanting things to go well.”

But underneath? It’s fear.
Fear of being less than.
Fear of being judged.
Fear of not being enough.

Here’s the truth:
You are already loved — completely — without the pedicure and false eyelashes. Without the performance. Without the perfection.

So take a breath.
Loosen your grip.
And open your hands to the God who’s been trustworthy (and in control) from the very beginning.
