Light That Can’t Be Overcome

Advent begins in the dark. The kind of darkness that makes us long for something more. The people of Israel waited hundreds of years for the promised Messiah. Many were giving up hope. Was God ever going to follow through on His promise? Had they misunderstood? God felt silent, but His promise was still in motion. The same is true for us. Even when we can’t see it, the Lord is working in the waiting. The light of hope isn’t just a flicker on the horizon; it’s the steady glow of a Savior who keeps every promise He makes. As you approach Christmas, let that flicker of hope turn into a flame that never goes out because the One you’ve placed your hope in, will never fail you.

Lord, help me wait with hope. When life feels dark or uncertain, remind me that Your promises are sure. Shine Your light into my waiting and help me trust that You are working, even when I can’t yet see. Amen.
