About Burley Stick Farm: As of 2024, we are celebrating 106 years on the family farm; while raising fifth generation farmers in Western North Carolina. Darrell’s great grandfather moved his family to our farm in 1918. Originally, this land generated burley tobacco, corn and livestock. The farm still has the old chicken house, spring house, casing house, corn crib, mule barn and tobacco barns. Every piece of this farm has been cared for by our family since 1918. We’ve tried to retain everything we learned about farming through the years, and hopefully build on it. Our current practices are the result of both generational knowledge and recent research of today’s farms.
