Acts of Summer

The Book of Acts teaches how the early church acted, interacted with and interceded for those around them. In Acts, you will find the coming of Holy Spirit and how believers experienced His power. The book gives us a blueprint for walking with the Spirit and doing the things Jesus did. Let’s do that this summer…and beyond.

Find Community

Acts 2:42 says, “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ reaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”

The early church made gathering together, worshiping Jesus and learning from Scripture an essential part of life – we should do that, too. If you’re in need of finding a local community of believers, we have a tool to help you!

Start Where You Are

“And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46-47
“And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.” Acts 5:42

“And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.” Acts 5:42

You’ve probably heard that saying, ‘wherever you are, be all there.’ If you are a follower of Jesus, you can start serving Him by serving the people around you.

Acts of Summer can start with:

  • Sharing a meal with close friends
  • Sharing a meal with new friends
  • Opening your home one night a week for community time
  • Vacation Bible School – don’t just send your child, volunteer to help!
  • Be interruptible – allow prefer people over productivity
  • Invite another child into your family fun day – adopt your child’s friend into your family for a day
  • Leave your phone in the car – force yourself to engage with people face-to-face instead of your screen

Pass It On

Do you have an idea how believers can show up for our communities and share the love of Jesus? How is the Holy Spirit showing up in your life? Share your story to encourage others!
