What we are all about…

I still remember the day I was offered a position at Blue Ridge Broadcasting. The legacy of the station, the integrity of Dr. Graham, the reach of the signal, all overwhelmed me as I searched for words to describe this new opportunity. This was a job that I dreamed about.

I moved trinkets and pictures into an office and began my BRB journey. I was amazed at the team. So many people who knew so much and loved God with all their hearts. It doesn’t happen often, but I didn’t have the words to accurately explain what I was feeling.

After my initial meetings, I settled in and started my job. 3 words kept coming up. Evangelism, Discipleship and Missions. As I looked at my job, I could see those 3 words weaved intricately into every aspect. It all led back to those 3 words.

So, this morning, I teared up as we spent the last day at work with Matt and his family as they prepare to travel as missionaries to Barcelona, Spain. (Find out more here: http://barcabound.wordpress.com/) They will definitely be missed. But, it made sense. It’s all come full circle. Matt and his family have shared their gifts with us for the last 10 years. For some, it’s been evanglistic. For others of us, it’s been discipleship. And now, they lead the way in missions.

So, we don’t say goodbye to the Stockman family…we say thank you! Thank you for your years of service here at 106.9 the Light and thank you for challenging us to look for the mission field where we are called to serve.
