Hi, I’m Ken.
I’ve been in radio since the 70s — which means I was spinning “current artists” before some of today’s listeners were spinning in a crib.
At The Light FM, I’ve been part-time for 22 years. But radio? That’s been part of my DNA since bell bottoms were a thing.
I’ve played artists like:
Keith Green.
Rich Mullins.
4Him.
WhiteHeart.
2nd Chapter of Acts.
Andrae Crouch and the Disciples.
DeGarmo & Key.
Russ Taff.
And my personal favorite — Mylon LeFevre and Broken Heart. Yes. They were current once. And yes, I still have the vinyl.
Those OTHER days, when I’m not on-air at the Light FM, I work full-time at our parent ministry, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in Charlotte.
Speaking of life…I married the love of my life, Deb, in 1984 after we met at a Christian music festival in Myrtle Beach in 1983.
We love to travel. We love it so much that we started a travel company. Last year, our Christmas Movie Tour — visiting filming locations in New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts — became a national story when the Associated Press picked it up.
Yes, we watch Christmas movies.
Yes, we take people to see where they were filmed.
Yes, we share devotions on the motorcoach every day.
And in 2021, Debbie and I helped start a church. More than 500 people have come to know Jesus as Savior in this new work — and we’re still meeting in an event center. Because sometimes God builds something powerful before He builds a building.
Oh — and I used to own a Harley Davidson. I sold it a couple of years ago. I still miss it. Deeply.
Thanks for stopping by. If you love music, ministry, travel, or old radio stories — we’ll get along just fine.
