Clear the List: How to Help Teachers

Find out how you can help teachers and students get ready for the new school year. Below, you will find a list of teachers who have submitted their classroom wishlist, as well as some tips to help everyone have a smooth transition!

Teachers work so hard to put together classrooms that are a safe space for their students to learn and build friendships. This can involve a lot of time and money. Whenever someone purchases an item from a teacher’s wish list, Amazon removes it from the wish list. The goal is to clear as many lists as possible before the start of your teacher’s school year.

Click on the different tabs to find a teacher in your area who you can help by clearing items off their list!

You can have a successful back to school season

It is a busy time for students, teachers, administrators and parents when school begins. Everyone could use a little help, especially during times of transition! The Light FM wants to help you help those around you. Below are a few things you can do to ensure your child(ren) and their teachers feel supported.

Pray

As the school year begins, start a new prayer time routine with your child. Ask them how they are feeling about a new school year and pray specifically for their emotional and mental health to be strong and for their focus to be set on the Lord. Encourage your child to ask their teacher if they have any prayer requests and pray with your child for their school, school staff and friends.

Ask questions

If you’re wondering about something, chances are, you’re not the only one. Don’t be afraid to ask your child’s teacher questions about what is going on in the classroom and how you can help support your child, their teachers and classmates.

Be available

After the chaos of virtual learning during the pandemic, teachers have had to be flexible and adapt to new ways of teaching. Your kids had to do it, too. And you had to turn your schedule upside down to accommodate it all. It wasn’t easy, but you made it work. The 2022-2023 school year is setting up to be more like ‘the good old days,’ but your children and their teachers still need your support. Carve out time to help in the classroom, drop off some doughnuts in the teachers lounge, send an email asking if they need more tissues or markers or offer to cut, tape, glue or print assignments so they don’t have to stay as late.

Have any other ways you can support teachers?
